Eric:

"I don't care about projected earnings as much as the real earnings."

Agreed...my point is that AMD earned $1 billion in Y2000 and, economic slump aside, their product lineup just keeps improving in both a relative and absolute sense, which implies to me that given economic recovery, AMD'll see years with $1 billion plus earnings again, and probably sooner than would seem likely in today's environment...That mobile market has huge potential for AMD imo...$11.35 for AMD is exceedingly tempting given future prospects, assuming economic bottoming now.

How do you expect AMD to reach higher/any earnings with vendors dropping them and prices falling and AMD's products falling behind on so many fronts (GHz, etc).

AMD recently stated that q3 shipments are in line with expectations which means they may once again ship a record number...I guess they are taking on new vendors as fast as they are losing them...It is certainly not my perception that AMD's products are falling behind on so many fronts...but, then again, I don't believe all the INTC PR P4 hype out there either...Seems to me AMD is gaining mobile marketshare by the day and it is just possible that the mobile market is about to enter exponential growth!
