OK, let's see where we stand.
Mike adds: MSFT stays in one piece and by the way regardless of what Smith Baloney says, msft did in effect restate earlier guidance. After a visit to the intel thread, it seems old tech combo of intel, msft, and dell will lead us out of the wilderness. Good Luck Richard on your staying long here. You make all the sense in the world. Will wear my rally hat tomorrow and continue to post only good news. Below is Richards post which needs to be reposted often.
-KLA-Tencor reaffirms guidance.
-Intel reaffirms guidance and capex, although they will hold off on 2002 capex guidance until January.
-National Semi meets expectations, says bookings increased during the quarter. Sites increased demand from
wireless, display, and PC customers.
-Although Mototola warned that sales will be flat instead of their previous forecast of up 5% sequentially, of
significance to equipment makers is that they also expect Q3 semiconductor orders to be up sequentially.
-Best Buy, a major consumer electronics chain, will far exceed earnings estimates, siting robust sales of DVD
players, digital TVs, and digital cameras.
-Leading economic indicators are improving. ( dismal.com )
