*OT*Your selective memory is amusing, Joe. Since you seem to read all my posts (and bit the bait to prove it) you undoubtedly chose (for whatever reason) to ignore my frequent past mentioning of charts, limiting individual issues to no more than 5% of one's portfolio, 2-10% stop-losses per trade, trailing stops to protect profits, and at least partial profit-taking when the issue appears short-term overbought.
I did indeed make doubles and triples in RFMD, FNSR, FFIV, HLIT, SEBL, WFII, etc., and also ate many small losses (and some larger landmines) which I've NEVER shied away from. I don't post every buy, nor do I post every sell...not even most of them. And time-horizons do matter to some people; those with tax concerns, IRA's, college funds, etc. Many traders and investors have more than one account for this very reason.
When to take profits and how much to take is a very personal decision; daytraders are different from position traders and long-term investors, etc. Those who go in the entrance without knowing where the exit is deserve what they get, imo. If I do have a personal price target or time-frame for an individual stock, I'll sometimes post it as a supporting reason for the purchase.
Not every buy I post will work within YOUR time-frame (or work at all for that matter). The ones I do post I believe represent an exceptional opportunity with a low risk/reward ratio, especially when exercised with a protective sell stop. And all my posts are solely my opinions and I ALWAYS say so.
If you consider my posts misleading (and you're the only person so far to say so), I cordially invite you to stop reading them.
As for my personal finances and what I do with the money I earn.....well, that's none of your business, is it? If you're "wondering how (I) have any money to make these purchases" maybe that's not a healthy preoccupation for you to have.
I can't recall any picks you've ever posted so I'm not in a position to selectively cut and paste your words...nor would I even if I had the time. Life's too short!
Good luck to you, Joe-- Mark |
