Go figure." You just haven't talked to the right people. If you are interested in moving to Canada, just let me know. If not, then you need to emphasize your hardware experience. We are moving into the Golden Age of embedded, with the way that SOC, wireless and micro-fuel cells are going. Aim your resume and talk to some headhunters, this is all I can tell you. The pay is decent right now, and the future is very bright. Go for it... Stay away from government, stock market, and what you have been doing. Go for bare-metal, WinCE and Linux. It's a whole lot more fun. Trust me on this.
