Topic: Bay Area Real Estate

My wife and I were out looking at open houses this past weekend. We came to the surprising conclusion that, with the current combination of prices and interest rates, that we could afford property that was acceptable to us.
In fact, were in the process of getting a realtor currently.

In your judgement, do you think now is as good a time as any to buy real estate? Will property values go lower? Keep in mind that property values aren't necessarily tied to the success of tech in NorCal.

We're seen lots of property on the market and plan to lowball a few offers before settling on anything. We'll enjoy our fleeting status as buyers in this buyers market.
