michael, you are "responding" to yourself. bad sign....everything seems aligned for a massive breakdown here. don't want to sound pessimistic but the unemployment figure is going to undercut consumer confidence going forward viciously (IMO). The change (month to month) is pretty radical and will be percieved as such by joe6P. I am still utterly amazed at what has occurred to our economy. I can still vividly recall greenspan last year stating to congress that he was not "targeting" the stock market. we shall see. I have a friend who started buying some beaten down techs just last week and his portfolio is down by 1/3 already. that is mind boggling. I think mutual funds are selling all techs to meet redemptions. At the rate we are going, there will be little tech holdings left in most funds.
