re bbdo et al,

Now I'm not even sure that it was a contradiction, because simply being at 185 percent of pro forma sales doesn't necessarily mean too much, much less that the cash flow model was based on correct assumptions or properly took into account unexpected contingencies, to begin with. Other factors, along with the usual SG&A issues, might have swamped them, despite coming in above possibly-meaningless projections on sales.

As to your request, one would have to do an autopsy on their operating history and gather up some additional low level detail of their m.o. in order to intelligently address the details of their mistakes and misfortunes. Perhaps someone looking in here has already done this?

I recently spoke with one of the founders of another similarly-postured BLEC that met a similar fate. And I've met with lower profile organizations, as well, some of whom never got off the ground [fortunately for them], where every Tom, Dick and Harry who owned real estate property was looking to get in on the land rush. I could probably extrapolate the contents of those discussions and compare them to this situation and come up with a positive correlation as to the issues that beset BBO.
