Jules - I think its Christmas in July. I just
read that Microsoft is standardizing on
architectures for Entry level, Office and
Home Entertainment PCs. If I read correctly
each of these architectures uses as a minimum
TWO Pentiums or Pentium Pros. Wow. Think of
the volume through those Fab units. I hope
I got it right because if that's correct, bring
the Jubilee. I absolutely have no clue when it
will be the right time to sell INTC.

I like your analysis and your conclusions.
Apple might be revived from its near death experience
by Sun or somebody with deep pockets and a clear
vision taking the helm. I heard someone say on
the radio that the problem at Apple was that the
developers hijacked the company in the sense that
they set the schedules and decided on the agenda.
However bright they were, they didn't know it all.
I am an engineer and I have certainly met more than
my share of engineers and computer scientists who
give arrogance a bad name. By the way, I believe Sun
offered about $25 a share for Apple about 3 months
ago. Looks pretty good now.

As for Intel, if they pull off the new designs on
schedule (a sacred Intel custom), they will definitely
make me a potential PC purchaser in about 12 to 18
months. Their architectural decisions sound awesome
and the performance of the Microsoft Architecture
Systems should tear the roof off sales.

Best regards,
Burt
