I've never seen "Voice of Fire" in a gallery, so I don't feel like commenting on that piece. But I have seen Marcel Duchamp's "Nude Descending A Staircase" and "The Bride Stripped Bare by Her Bachelors, Even" at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. I don't know what they'd sell for at auction these days, but it's millions. Many millions.

Both of which gave the establishment apoplexy, too. I like them, but my husband loves them. He is transfixed when he sees them, and spends a long time sitting in the gallery, just gazing at them. When he talks about them, his voice is full of pleasure and animation.

In matters of taste, there can be no disputation. The hallmark of a yokel/yahoo is the belief that if he doesn't like something, no one else can or should.

Children do produce wonderful art, don't they? Just because a child can make something without being taught doesn't make it unworthy of admiration. Most of the art in my own home was made by my children.
