I am confused by these GOP types defending the very rich all the time. Do the very rich need such lobbyists when they already have them in Bush's office? Simple truth, the US is the biggest tax haven for the rich in the world. Lowest tax rates in the western world. With all the write-offs available (private jets, vacation homes, $1000 dinners, lawyers, accountants, etc) the average very rich person pays only 27% in tax. About the same as your average working stiff who gets it taken out of his check every week. And the working stiff will now use valuable social services on account of the new deficits caused by the tax cuts. And will the very rich spend their tax savings? Not even likely. yes everyone agrees tax cuts are great when we can afford them and no one is suggesting we take this one back. But it is not going to help the middleclass only the rich, esp when you consider the massive energy gougings Bush-Cheney and Company were behind last year which cost the average American family around the same amount as the tax cut. Big energy with Bush/Cheney are are the real pigs at the trough here and in one year they did everyone outside the oil patch big-big financial damage. Which is why Cheney won't release his energy papers to congress. Because he's guilty of abusing power and fleecing the US economy.
