ST trading:

AMAT is showing amazing strength, 40 is still holding. With a Nas below 1700. Today is the kind of day where positive analyst comments get ignored, and babies get thrown out with the bathwater, but......40 holds. I'm reconsidering my refusal to go long at prices above 30 or 35. The market keeps telling me it isn't going there. In the last few days, I've initiated positions or doubled up on EMC, QCOM, TXN, and CSCO. On monday at the close, if 40 is still holding (and we haven't had a huge runup), I'm going to seriously think about going long. Going short is not on the agenda, not any more.

I don't understand why anybody was surprised that unemployment is going up. Duh.
