I agree. It is so simple everyone is doing it. But, you haven't touched on the real problem.

The prevailing Euro-spin has been "WCDMA is the cheapest upgrade for existing GSM systems"
After you upgrade to GPRS, deploy more cellsites, license new spectrum, and buy lots of shiny new equipment...
you still end up with significantly worse battery life and performance and you paid significantly more money.

I'd demand a refund if I were you.

As far as my wet dreams (?), I personally don't want a PDA phone that doesn't run Palm apps, can't store and play MP3's, and doesn't have Snaptrack.
