If only it were true.

Of course 4.9% is a great and low number by historic standards. But it was 3.9% less than a year ago. That's a lot of lost jobs, less consumer spending and reduced consumer confidence. Since the consumer has been holding up our economy, this is bad news no matter how badly you'd like to blame it on media spin.
