The comment was a response to a caller. It had to do with a particular idea of Lukacs'. It's one thing to disagree with an idea, but the way Buckley blithely dismisses with a wave of his hand ideas he disagrees with suggests a contempt for that person. He seems to reserve this attitude for those on the right. Fears competition, I guess.

Someone, I think Norman Podhoretz, but I'm not positive, wrote that Russell Kirk harbored anti-Semitic tendencies. Several other distinguished conservatives were singled out as anti-Semites as well. Rather than defend Kirk, Buckley allowed that Podhoretz had a point. The whole thing was preposterous.
