Ferguson Lake Nickel-Copper-Cobalt-Platinum-Palladium Project, Nunavut, Canada

HIGHER GRADES CONTINUE TO BE ENCOUNTERED AT DEPTH IN FL01-91 AND EXTENDED BY A 400 METER (1320 ft) STEPOUT IN FL01-89

Starfield Resources is pleased to report that drill results recently compiled from the Ferguson Lake Nickel-Copper-PGE-Cobalt property confirm that higher grades continue to be encountered at depth on the West Zone. Drill Holes FL01-91 and FL01-89 on Section 6300 West and Section 6600 West, respectively are the deepest holes completed to date at the project and successfully extended the higher grade mineralization defined earlier (see News Release of August 20th, 2001). Drill holes FL01-85 and FL01-86 on Sections 5360 West and 6600 West, respectively, were located to define the upper and eastern extents of West Zone massive sulphides. Results are presented in the accompanying table.

Hole FL01-86 was drilled on Section 6600 west as a 400 meter westerly stepout from hole FL01-84 and intersected the upper portion of the sulphide horizon. Drill hole FL01-89 was drilled 250 meters downdip from FL01-86 and intersected two massive sulphide horizons 7.45 meters (24 ft) and 18.85 meters (62 ft).

Drill holes FL01-89 and 91 have confirmed that both grade and width of mineralized massive sulphides continue to increase at depth. The sulphide unit is still open to depth and along strike to the west and two drill rigs are continuing to test the West Zone target in previously unexplored areas on section 6800 west and Section 6300 west. Hole FL01-99 has recently been completed 100 meters below Hole FL01-84 and intersected the massive sulphide unit 100 meters east and at approximately the same level as hole FL01-91. Exploratory drill holes (FL01-87, 88 and 90) completed on “M” and East Zone targets will be reported on as results are compiled.
