So what if religions and churches aren't democracies? In this country at least, membership in and contribution to any religious group or organization is purely voluntary. If you don't like their rules, don't contribute and don't join.

OTOH, those who do wish to be members DO have the right to join and contribute.

It's called freedom of religion. First Amendment to the US Constitution.

What's the problem?

BTW, I am an atheist. That does not mean I want to or have the right to prohibit those who choose to from practicing their religion.
