Thanks for the link Gus, I'm not always the best tea reader, but the initial conclusion from this and the question Whose Switch ASIC?

4,4x3=12 port counts don't sound like anything based on a single chip 16 technology. So not QLGC? As I had hoped for.

So either BRCD or MCDT gets the slot. My guess is MCDT? Time will tell.

However, this may signal a shift to a modular approach and that is good for those who make good components. It undercuts any chance for branding for the likes of BRCD as there won't be any Brocade inside sticker on the Symmetrix even if BRCD gets the Switchblade.

Bring on the news season, after EMC, who else will want to roll with new products?
