Well actually not the same "smart design" ... somewhat smarter, I would say. The mic is in the face of the keyboard flip (which is generally closed when talking and only open when operating as a Palm). When I use the 6035 mic/speaker in its desktop charging/synchronization cradle (attached to PC) I wind up leaning forward to about 18 inches from the microphone in order for the party I'm conversing with to hear me clearly. It is really not a good substitute for a hands free kit when riding in a dash cradle near the steering wheel in my auto, although I occasionally attempt to use it that way, if I haven't plugged into the hands free kit. Speaker quality (not volume which is fine) at some 3 feet from the phone could be called adequate (barely), and not (quite) garbled. Nonetheless it is a feature that I do get some utility out of. Based on my feeble attempt here at a description of same how would you compare the 9210? - Eric -
