endless, ending the mortgage interest deduction would CRUSH real estate values.

it wa sinstituted to get votes from current homeowners who would see marginal price appreciation and the real estate lobby.

forget the propaganda. they can't take it away en masse. maybe based gradually based on income, but that is a stretch, too.
