Perhaps there is no power source?, no cooling fan, no box, no power cord, lots of other little things aren't there. Are the savings of the cost of manufacturing these things all passed on to the customer? Doesn't seem like it to me. Anyway I don't see how this would put much pressure on margins for those who supply the parts. Unless EMC gets a big share of it.

Gus, I need help with this part....

The new 8230 supports twice as many more
internal Fibre Channel connections (24) and up to 288 external Fibre Channel
connections, and 512 ESCON or FICON logical paths.

What are these internal FC connections; Are they switched ports, or FC loop, or point to point. And regarding the external FC connections. 288/12=24. Is there really room for 24 12 port switch modules to allow full connectivity?
