Did some tax loss selling on a couple of doggies on friday...one of them being 7500 mgj..my timing was as usual impecable as it was halted shortly after <<cringe>>..the other was the Australian stock I had since /96..here.. Message 13212354 The brokerage to sell this stock was $215..the same as it was to buy the stock/96...for a total brockerage fee of $430.00. I talked to one of the brokers on the international desk at TD about possibly getting a break on the brokerage fee as the stock wasn't worth what the brokerage was..he's getting back to me<<<ggg>>>(I tried to gift it to them for a sell slip but that didn't work either as he said they would lose money selling it.) He also said that in many cases TD actually looses money on international trades as they work through a jitney brokerage and their fees are quite high. He said there was 4 brokers working the internatinal side ..most of the work being done in the morning because of the difference in time...so if TD needs 4 brokers for international trading I guess there must be plenty of clients to support this...however we on this thread don't know of any of them.Maybe Toby should spend some of this new PP on some newspaper advertising and get the word out!!! Brokerage fees for international trades at TD are $5000 and under $215:$5000 to $10000 $230:$10000 and over $270 and up. Maybe too, TC could get Australia in the group and we could compare the $415 against what SE Global could do the trades for.. seglobal.com
