Yes newport is worth more than 5-7 dollars per share.I may be wrong but there hasn't been enough people throw up their
hands and give up on this market quite yet. When that happens
Newport could dip into that range.I am not saying it will stay there for long and possibly only for a moment.Book value has nothing to do with the panic that may occur with companies like this.It will settle @ book value even in this bear market.I also realize book value is near $12 down
from 14.40 earlier in the year.
Their exposure to fiber-optics is the main consideration
for my thinking.I agree Newport is a different company now
than it was 5 years ago.And short term Newport may see 20 before it sees 10.A bounce sure feels close.
Newport is a great company and will more than likely be a
leader coming out of this mess.We also don't need to go back
to far in American history to see where extreme infrastructure buildup started. It began when Clinton
signed the telecom deregulation bill, but in the ensuing months to follow the FCC found it necessary to squash the momentum and reregulate it with more regulations. The industry could of handled the situation with competition in
the market place.Like I said Newport may be a great company
but I am going to wait for more blood running down the street to purchase more.GTC order in @$6.I may be dreaming
cheers Dennis
