Hi Knighty Tin; I have to say I like the folksy way the thread seems, without stock discussion.

I've noticed that the local grocery stores seem to be having some sort of price war going on for certain staples. I don't know what connection that has to the economy in general. I would think that in down times, staples would increase in price, while prepared foods would drop.
