Hi Allen - RE: IOM OEMs

I just saw a curious report at:

macintouch.com which stated a problem from an IOM OEM

<...Got a call yesterday from a Stream Logic rep who said that they are no longer shipping Jaz drives because Iomega is pricing them out of the market. The rep claimed that Iomega is charging them $150 more per unit for the drive than they charge the Zone or Warehouse for the Iomega branded drives. Micronet is no longer producing them either...>

A few months ago, Macintouch ran a series of Jaz bashing articles when some technical probs were showing up, i.e. the Roland disk recorders. At the time, Macintouch seemed to be unfairly playing up the controversy, so I view Macintouch with a wary eye. Still, they also are 'right-on-the-money' with some of their articles, so which way this one is going, in terms of truth, is anybody's guess.

But if this is true, then why would IOM do such a thing? Or, why would an OEM report such a thing - in other words, is there an alternate scenario that isn't being shown in this report?
