Cary, RE: NVLS

Does it give you any pause that on Friday NVLS rescheduled a Lehman conference appearance that was scheduled to be held this morning in favor of a live webcast appearance tomorrow afternoon? Also on Friday Lehman Analyst Edward White reduced his earnings estimate to $1.27 from $1.41 for fiscal 2001, and to 40 cents from $1.55 for fiscal 2002. My thought is NVLS likely to guide lower tomorrow (in accord with FD -- must be made at PUBLIC forum). Figure it is unlikely that White would risk getting egg on his face with a directional call of this magnitude without a pretty good mosaic. I suppose that is reason for NVLS weakness today.

OTOH, I observe that the Lehman conference was to also have been webcast live, so the most significant difference is that tomorrow's conference will be made after the market is closed, which is usually regarded as desireable for a significant shift in guidance. Perhaps I'm reading too much into this.
