I think that the prospect of bandwidth problems has been WAY over-played. I think that the cable players are being MUCH more responsible in their bandwidth allocation than conventional ISPs have been.

Some of the early systems were built to 2000, 3000, 5000 homes per node. Those days are over, and the new systems are being built very conservatively, because the cable companies are also smelling the even greener offered by telephone service.
