Too bad for Intel so much tortured logic made it into the P4, otherwise it might be somewhat more economical to manufacture

My good friend Winnie....

You are making a common mistake. You are looking at the very first incarnation of a new generation and you think you can pass judgement based on that. The first Pentium was huge hot and slower than the 486 it replaced. It didn't stay that way. The first PPro used about 3x the silicon of the Pentium it replaced and the package cost a fortune. It didn't stay that way. The Klamath version of P6 used a slot1 card, often referred to as a "brick" plus expensive cache. It didn't stay that way. Deschutes, Katmai and CuMine greatly reduced costs, improved performance and generated billions in profits. You've seen a large die P4 scale to at least 2.0GHz on the old process, with a small cache and Jackson technology turned off. Unable to learn from the past, you think it will always stay that way....

Have a nice day!
