The last guy that scared me out of the market was a fellow named Joe Granville who used to move markets with anything he said. This was after the Oct crash in 87 and with DOW at 1700 he said it was going to 1000. I was new to investing and had just gotten in a few months earlier in May 87 and I sold and sure enough it was pretty much the bottom. My brother-in-law got in around the same time and was back to even my December and I found I had a 25% loss at the end of the year.

I don't like the prospects of a world recession as that could put more pressure on our markets as well.
