my take on the situation with hwp/cpq is that will become an important orcl shop. cpq already bundles orcl's application server 9ias in their servers and are using one application of 11i within their own company. hwp is using orcl's sales app from 11i within their own company. what they are doing is proving that they can run the orcl software on their own hardware. for now, sunw is the primary supplier and will probably stay that way. so i believe that cpq and hwp will become orcl shops more and more.

so it will be (dell/msft/intc) vs. (cpq/hwp/sunw/orcl). ibm is promoting linux; we will see how that turns out.
