Hey, I have good news man--kinda personal, but always
nice to share good news on the thread.

{First, for any newbie lurkers--my kid happened to be
born with one kidney--multicystic dysplastic kidney on
the other side/no function}.

Miriel's bad side/cysts have shrunk up really nicely,
and the one kidney is just doing great. There is some
other stuff going on that they'll be keeping an eye on,
but mainly the check up was good news. They probably
watch these toddlers for Wilms tumor, rare--not too
high on my list of worries. Impressive how the experts
at Childrens Hospital manage to sort out all the details,
a very tricky job this ultrasound interpretation.

Anyway, for those folks who did not get onto the ALS
mailing list when Miljenko won the contest...here are
some links:

and for the Seattlites

I'm not going to do any preaching, frankly, I'm not
very generous with my time or my money. Maybe it is just
that each time we have to go to Children's and see a few
genuinely sick kids in the hallway, well, it has put a
bug in my brain. I think I am going to have to volunteer
or something over there, or it is going to be like an
itch I can't scratch. Okay, confessional over.
