You're right Patricia, but because Bush got the election we have to give him at least a compromise, at least until a Dem-Indie congress takes over next year as I think it probably will. People have mainly realized that whether they liked Clinton or not, he did a much better job. And if we'd never had to deal with his bedroom details he would just have been a very-very successful leader of the free world who kept a majority of people in the world happy. Bush makes maybe 35-40% in the US happy and 95% of the rest of the world unhappy. It's a small world these days. The US president has to lead the world. That's where Bush really fails. The Kyoto pull-out was an embarasssment and crime. Star Wars is an atrocity to other nations.
And we don't even need it. Nor can we afford it. Can you believe they just cut down 100 acres of old growth forest in Alaska to clear ground for a "secret" missile defence base before congress even approved it? The arrogance. Republicans, tell them to stop it. Your party will lose if it continues. Nobody in their right mind wants missile defence anymore anyway, except out of pure Bush loyalty. There is no other reason. To defend us against Iran, Iraq and N. Korea? Total bullshit. very divisive and problematical. And everyone knows it.
