Sure... but, at least, Jewish immigrants in Patagonia would be on a par with Arab immigrants, German immigrants,... as far as any pre-emption claim on the land would be raised. You'd have been allowed to build a brand new capital --New Jerusalem-- just like persecuted Huguenots from Europe did in New Amsterdam in the XVIIth century... And I'm pretty sure that (Jewish) real-estate tycoon Paul Reichmann (owner of the World Trade Center towers in NY) would have been too happy to fork out for the erection of a swanky replica of Solomon's Temple! And think of it, Nadine: how much easier it'd be for Israel to keep an eye on all those Nazi fugitives who've been hiding out in South America for the past 60 years... Let's face it, you missed Patagonia.
