Brightpoint and Interactive Intelligence Sign Distribution Agreement to Develop New Wireless VAR Channel
Companies team to more quickly deliver new wireless products and services to the small and mid-sized enterprise market

INDIANAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 11, 2001--Interactive Intelligence Inc. (NASDAQ: ININ) and Brightpoint North America L.P., a subsidiary of Brightpoint, Inc. (NASDAQ: CELL) signed a value-added distribution agreement designed to speed the delivery of new wireless products and services to the small and mid-sized enterprise market.

Under the terms of the agreement, Brightpoint will market, sell and support Interactive Intelligence's first wireless application gateway product, called Mobilite(TM), along with a combined offering composed of Mobilite and Brightpoint's own bundled wireless data products and services.

Brightpoint has created a value-added service and support program to address the convergence of wireless communications, data and handheld computing called the Wireless Value Added Reseller channel program. The WVAR channel program supports companies that market wireless data solutions to small and mid-sized businesses, corporations and government agencies, allowing them to offer a choice of hardware devices, wireless network connectivity and software from the world's leading manufacturers and carriers.

Interactive Intelligence, a global developer of interaction management software, recently entered the wireless market with Mobilite, a product that enables companies to rapidly create, deploy and maintain wireless productivity applications for popular handheld devices such as the RIM BlackBerry, Palm Pilot, Pocket PC and Symbian/Epoc line.

Mobilite is based on Interactive Intelligence's Interaction Center Platform(TM), a unified communications platform in use by more than 750 companies worldwide.

``We created our WVAR channel program so that companies could choose from among the highest quality and widest array of hardware devices, wireless network connectivity and software,'' J. Mark Howell, president of Brightpoint, said. ``We're delighted to add Mobilite to this program so that businesses can more quickly take advantage of its powerful wireless application development platform.''

``Brightpoint's many years of experience delivering world-class wireless solutions to companies like Nextel, AT&T, Verizon and Sprint will go a long way toward creating a new wireless VAR channel,'' Dr. Donald E. Brown, president and chief executive officer for Interactive Intelligence, said. ``We can help with that by not only providing a unique wireless product based on proven technology, but also by drawing on our experience of cultivating one of the first computer telephony VAR channels from the ground up. We're incredibly excited to help break new ground in this dynamic wireless market with such a reputable company as Brightpoint.''
