Here's the Briefing recap: 10:37 ET Final Update Of The Day : Have heard no new information on U.S. equity market trading. The assumption is that both the Nasdaq and NYSE will remain closed for the rest of the day, at the least. Briefing.com is closing its offices for the day.




10:30 ET International Equity Markets Under Pressure : Investors fleeing equities around the world in reaction to apparent terrorist attacks against the US. European markets that are still trading include UK (-3.1%), France (-3.6%), Belgium (-4.2%). South American equities hit the hardest with Argentina down 5.2%, Brazil off 7.9%, and Mexico 4.8% lower... Canadian equities are down 3.7%.




10:20 ET Bond/Currency Reaction : Today's catastrophic events send bonds surging on the back of the flight to quality concerns. Curve trading with a pronounced steepening bias. Futures closing in the next few minutes. Dollar down a full figure against the yen. Safe-haven buying in the Swiss franc and gold.




10:05 ET Planes Grounded : Reports that all U.S. aircraft have been grounded.




09:51 ET Nasdaq Delayed : Bloomberg reporting that Nasdaq trading will be closed until 11:30 ET.




09:45 ET Pentagon Fire : NBC reporting a fire at the Pentagon.




09:35 ET Nasdaq Delayed : Although we have yet to receive confirmation, Nasdaq trading also appears to be halted.




09:32 ET President Bush Comments : Bush calls World Trade Center crash an "apparent terrorist attack."




09:26 ET Trading Delayed : NYSE will delay trading until further notice.




09:18 ET Breaking News : News reports that a United Air Lines 757 Airbus was hijacked and flown into the World Trade Center. Both towers engulfed in flames and smoke.




09:14 ET Equity Futures Tumble : US equity futures come under heavy selling pressure on reports that a second plane has crashed into the World Trade Center. Nasdaq futures have plunged to -27.50 from +15 since the initial report was released, while the S&P futures have fallen to -20 from +6.00. Also reports that the New York Stock Exchange is being evacuated.




09:05 ET E.piphany (EPNY) 6.74: Announced that Hutchison 3G, holder for the largest block of spectrum in the UK, selected the E.piphany CRM solution to be a key component of its enterprise CRM strategy.




09:00 ET Breaking News : CNN reports that an airplane has crashed into the World Trade Center.
