As a resident of Manhattan, I can’t even begin to describe the scene here. I went to the roof of my apartment building and saw the second tower of the WTC collapse before my eyes. It’s very surreal to look at the southern portion of Manhattan and not see the twin towers.

The streets are fairly crowded (at least where I am) as folks are going home from work. The post office is closed and the supermarkets are completely packed. People are stocking up in a big way. Lots of long lines at the ATM machines.

Folks are understandably shaken up in a huge way, although from what I can see, there doesn't seem to be a state of panic (at least from my vantage point). The devastation is overwhelming and incredibly difficult to fathom.

My condolences to all affected.
