How do you go to war against 'right wing' Islam? That is the problem. This is unlikely to have been the design of a foreign country and more likely to be a small faction form which any excuse is good (islam, waco, capitalism) just to vent their murderous urges. If Islam didn't exist, Bin Laden would be killing in the name of the Christian fundamentalists (like pro-life extremist) or doing terrorist attacks in the name of chinese-maoist-communism in Peru or what-have-you.
