Come on, Rich, "ferretting out jewish communist sympathizers" was not exactly the most effective way to fight the cold war during the McCarthy era, nor is witch-hunting the most productive response now. In fact, it can be argued that the McCarthist witch-hunt gave Red China the ICBM capacity, just like Hitler's witch-hunt against jews and other minorities gave the Allies some of the most brilliant scientists that eventually contributed heavily to the defeat of Hitler himself. What makes America great is our ability to accommodate people regardless their political opinions; we outlaw acts, not thoughts. Not to mention that none of the people in your list condone the heinous terrorist attacks.

That being said, I do actually agree with your earlier post that this will lead to drastic responses from the US. If not for anything else, our credibility (which is the cornerstone to our own safety and security in the future) is on the line.
