Saddened but not surprised to see much anti-arab sentiment on most of the chat-lines. This kind of attack was predicted and expected for decades. One could not seriously anticipate taking the homes of thousands of Arabs and not having any repercussions. In the eyes of many Arabs, US is one with the State of Israel and as such, a target for terrorists. No religion condones violence and it is difficult to imagine that any leader of ANY nation could possibly be behind this. Osama bin Landen is as likely a mad man as any, but in my humble opinion, to paint all Arabs with one antagonistic brush will only add fuel to the fire. If I had one wish today, assuming the wish this could not have happened failed, would be that this event would spark a new round of constructive dialogue that would finally take into consideration the needs and wants of all parties involved. I have friends living in Israel who witnessed attacks on their Jewish neighbours, I have friends whose families lost their homes to the advance of a Jewish State, and I have friends at EURObrokers who perished in that building today. I was in the building during the last bombing so this touched home as close to anyone else here. My heart goes out to those family members of all who were inflicted. I will go to St. Johns Ambulance here in Ottawa and give blood. It is my hopes that many here do the same.
