Mike, I've been sitting by the tv watching with great sadness at the loss that so many have suffered today.
I hope in our rush to respond that we have cool heads that can prevail over the eye for an eye sentiment that
most all of us want. It would seem that other than settling a score, that violence against the guilty parties will
self perpetuate more violence over the years to come.
I can't figure out religious fanatics, never have and never will. But, what is really amazing to me are all the countless that have been slaughtered in the name of religion.
I don't know who the guilty parties are, I doubt anyone does (except those that did it), and I know what a
huge public outcry there will be for revenge of similar magnitude. But, alas, my head tells me that that will
offer no long lasting solution to the problem of terrorism.
Another sad day in our history.

Whatever else this tragedy will spawn, it is sure that today we have lost a measure of freedom
against personal search and seizure that we have enjoyed for the last 200 years.
What a sad day and a sad way to begin a new millennium that could hold so much promise for mankind.
My thoughts and prayers are with all those that have suffered this day.
