I've had a very "shaken" morning. My brother is a pilot for Continental. Flight 1179 from Newark to Chicago @ 7:45 was on his schedule. Found out after a "frantic" 2 hrs that he is safe. To follow is a conversation that I had with him on the phone once I was able to reach him.

Just spoke at length with my brother. Of course he's quite shaken. He did though assure me that no pilot of those airlines flew into those areas. He said they were already dead. Their recent training for terrorism included ditching their aircraft in an unpopulated area the MOMENT they were sure of total destruction involving a populated area. He says the MO of terrorists is to now use hypodermic needles with a lethal dose of an agent of immediate termination is being used. The terrorists are pre-trained to be able to fly the crafts. MO has them overtake flight attendants and secure the daily "KNOCK CODE" to the cabin. Upon entry, the terrorists kill the flight crew, by administrating the drugs, and overtake the craft. In the Pittsburgh incident, my brother says it was probably the Co- pilot or flight engineer that threw the plane down before the intended target before they perished. He said that we should be "comforted" in the fact that the bravery of our pilots was NEVER in question. He's pOSITIVE that they would rather die with only those on board than to risk further casualties. That the ones over NY surely, if given the chance, would have put the planes in the sea. They were already dead. God rest their souls. Also he said that they chose Westbound flights to insure full fuel capacity to "maximize" bomb effect apon impact. Pray for the lost and the families impacted by this cowardly act. JIG
