the military is on the highest state of alert. that means equipment and personnel are ready and on immediate standby for war.
many reservists have been called up...others have been alerted to standby for call up.

i believe the initial military orientation will be defensive...protecting and defending key equipment, personnel, government facilities, and installations. as intelligence is developed look for counter and pre-emptive strikes later.

i do not see terrorists striking our bases...but i could be wrong. terrorists are killers but not fighters and they may get into a fight at a base.

the key question is this...is it over or is this the beginning of an even bigger action?

either way, life in America changed today. one thing for certain, the military will once again become a key and important consideration in our daily lives. strength and readiness will be demanded. the uniform will be respected.

the draconian military budget cuts that more than halved our armed forces and equipment over the past 8 years don't look too bright today. neither do clinton's personal behavior and treatment of military rules and traditions that killed military morale...how many times do we need to learn that lesson?

but America is a land of fighters and a new generation will accept this threat and fight it and win. we just need to remember to support them in every way.

btw...flags should be flown at 1/2 mast.
