It's the Jews AND the Palestinians and all those countries (primarily Britain) who helped establish the state of Israel on other people's land out of their feelings of collective guilt over WWII. There is plenty of blame to go around - we ALL get some (as countries).

If we are truly bombing Afghanistan over this now, as I have heard, then my country sickens me. We are as irresponsible as terrorists if we react reflexively to kill without precision. I have always been depressed by our hypocrisy, and smugness, but if we kill the people of Kabul for terrorists operating here, in small cells, we are as horrible as the terrorists. Of course, that's no surprise. When people get desperate they get equally ugly. Americans just don't usually have much to be desperate about.
