Raymond - do you not think the comparison was for U.S. lives lost? If that point was made clear I do not think it was irresponsible journalism at all. Those two buildings had 50,000 people in them. I fear the count will be at least half that of all Americans killed in Nam if your figure of 60,000 is correct (and i think it is). It is very difficult to evacuate 50,000 people from 110 story buildings with no power. I doubt anyone above the impact areas escaped. This does not even consider the few hundred people on the airplanes, people on the ground around the buildings and the people in the pentagon (which I understand was sparsly populated).
