>George if we do that all we do is show any power that it can cause the US to seek opposing it or even get it to support its objective by killing enough Americans. It would only encourage countries, or groups, or individuals, that have a disagreement with or a dislike for, the US to try to kill some Americans. It would also create new groups with a beef against the US such as the Kosovo Albanians who might feel that terrorism is the way to go to get support from the US. Your proposals are the worst way possible to respond to this attack.

I respectfully disagree. The continued forceful retaliation (to show them that we are tough) will perpetrate the cycle of violence and terror by directly encouraging more people to sacrifice themselves for God/country/virgins in heaven, etc. because, remember, their curent lifestyle is worth sh*t. I know what I am proposing is not really American, we like to be tough and hit back. But, think about it for a moment, do we want to live free and go about life inside this country without worrying that some wacko will hijack a plane and pay you a visit in your office cubicle one morning? Heck, I say let's work for a fair and just peace in the Middle East encompassing my terms outlined in an earlier post. You 'll see Osama giving up its holy war and most of his followers go back to their land to get a real job and not be consistently reminded of the brutal occupation and degradation they have been living for years. If we hit hard (which we likely will, we just start bombing regardless) this will create more martyrs ready for such acts as the one we experienced today.

Let me make another controversial statement. Terrorism is bad, innocents die. At the same time, occupying people and treating them like sh*t for decades is bad, so is bombing the crap off of them, innocents die. I do not condone terrorism but I sure understand the reasons behind it. All this official talk about "fighting back, standing up against terror, blah blah" is talk, the terrorists sent a very strong message today and the US govt heard it. Now it is up to them to respond, I hope they do something to cure the cause of terrorism, which is when you fully support a country that continues to treat another people like sh*t for decades you force some of these people to take extreme measures, today was the result. We retaliate hard, we will get hit hard sometime again, especially if we spend all those bilions for that missile defense system<g>

Line was too long for the blood donation today, they told us to come back tomorrow morning at 8.00am
