Yes, now I understand, and I agree with you.

I agree that both Israel and the Palestinians have a shared responsibility for the situation in the middle east. The relentless settlement policy pursued by all governments in Israel with the notion that this newly settled land would someday be useful as bargaining chips has been a colossal mistake, for example. And there is much more.

But I reiterate my position that intimations or implications that it is the Jews' fault that the Islamic extremists did what they did today, which are offered as rationalizations for the crimes and the jubilant celebrations of them, are inappropriate.

In the areas of Palestine that they control, Fatah has created a rapaciously exploitative, corrupt, violent regime. Do the Jews share the blame for that? If you want to see eloquent and incisive analyses of the depth of corrupt failure in PA-controlled territory, the paragon of anti-Zionism, the rock-throwing Edward Said has produced some. Probably on the net.
