i have no peace. i am more unsettled than i can ever remember being. surprisingly, anger is not the overriding feeling. it is present, oh, it is present for sure.

but i am so deeply disturbed by the state of humanity. and i don't know what to do.

i've heard it said that patriotism is the last refuge to which a scoundrel clings... to me, this does not mean that all whom cling to patriotism are scoundrels. it just tells me to watch out. watch everyone.

but today, the symbol of america is righteous to me, for it was americans who were slaughtered.

i am confused, saddened, and so sorry. i want justice for these fallen americans. i only wish that other innocent people of another nationality did not have to pay for the actions of these terrorists, as i fear might happen.
