Any Engineers out there? Haven't heard any explanation why the WTC buildings would collapse so quickly after they were hit.

You would think the buildings foundation, pile driven into bedrock would have held up at least 30 or 50 floors, no matter what the damage is on the upper floors.

I've been in housing construction all my life, and I'm shocked by the rapid collapse of these giant buildings.

If you remember your history, in 1945, a B-25 (B-24??) bomber, fully loaded with aviation fuel, smashed into the Empire State Building, building was damaged, but it really wasn't that severe. I know these 757's are much larger, but, for these buildings just to collapse like a house of cards is stunning.
