but if this runs like Aug 2, 1990, the next realization will be that the economy will tip sharply into recession. the bounce off of this dip may be muted as in August 1990. There is more of a benefit to clearing the decks of bad news, regardless of whether bearer of news is corporate or government. They now have an external scapegoat.
