Remember Viet Nam? The above was the justification for
that.

Did it accomplish anything? Other than mass destruction of
all parties?

Even by paying attention to the words themselves, you can
understand that:

YOU CANNOT GET PEACE BY WAGING WAR.....

Today's violence will typically trigger more violence which
will in turn trigger more violence and so on. Then full scale war.

Replacing foreign governments you don't like is more
complicated than you are suggesting. An example: Iraq

You get peace by removing conflict, not generating more.
