Yes, it would be very reassuring to have Clinton biting his lip with a tear in his eye and a quiver in his voice. He'd probably want psychological counseling for the poor misunderstood terrorists.

Anyone who would expect the President to tip his hand publicly, with terrorists perhaps still in the country and information still forthcoming and events still unfolding, is nuts.

So far as Bush being removed to Nebraska--duh. With terrorist planes in the air, imagine the effect on the country if he just blindly flew into Andrews, and was shot down or attacked in the air. Obviously certain security measures went into effect and he was kept safe until the situation was examined. That drill has probably been in place since WWII for god's sake.
